Middle and West Wichel, built on the sites of West Leaze farm and Southleaze farm respectively, are part of the Wichelstowe housing development to the south of Swindon. Wichelstowe will eventually have over 4000 houses and flats plus schools, shops and pubs.

Development in Middle and West Wichel is controlled through a joint venture between Swindon Borough Council and Barratt Developments. They run the official Wichelstowe website and also a youtube channel.
